Tracy Abeyta-The Fort Washakie Wellness Challenge

The Deadline is HERE
Mood:  on fire
Well I have to say this challenge has been an eye-opener for me . It helped me overcome most of my weaknesses. Still having problems with getting myself to lift weights. I know I need to because of aches and pains in my knees after I run. I did make my new goal of losing 15 lbs before this challenge ended. Yay! I do enjoy running and walking and now have a habit of doing it pretty regular. My diet has definately improved. I do have to say thank you to fellow challengers who've posted to my blog to encourage me because I really needed it and the comments sure made my day. I will continue to work on my previous weight loss goal throughout the summer and my weight lifting goal also. I will post again tommorrow before people take off for the summer.

Tired
Mood:  a-ok
Well I survived the weekend. My son's graduation done and over with so now I can really focus on me. I didn't do too bad as far as eating goes but on Sunday I didn't eat until 5:00 or 6:00 that evening. I wasn't hungry until then anyway. I did run with my family on Saturday, it was hot but we got it done. I have one more graduation to attend at Wy. Indian Jr. High tomorrow and then I am finished with these things for awhile. I am almost to my goal but I think, well I know that I have to do the diet 2 more times, this week and next week. I'll survive. I'm still running and walking, I haven't worked in the weight lifting yet.....but I will. Well have a good day.

2 More Weeks!!!!!!!
Mood:  rushed
Well this week ended well. I lost a few more pounds this week, I hope I can keep them off with the receptions (good food) coming up. This will be a good challenge for me again. The exercise is going well. I did my 3 mile run on the track the other day and it was hard. It's not like the treadmill that's for sure. My legs are still sore! I did have to walk the next day and I may have to run again tonight, we'll see what happens. Hope you all have a good weekend and we'll see you on Monday.

Three More Weeks!!!!!!!
Mood:  bright
It's almost been a week since I last blogged so I'll try to remember my week. I was asked by my husband to go to Las Vegas with him over the weekend, so, I went. It was fun. We took two of our kids with us and we drove there. During the day we walked and walked in the 90 degree weather. It was good enough for exercise. We walked at night too. I ran Friday with my husband (whimpy run, I was too embarassed to run in front of everybody) and Saturday. Saturdays run was fun, I followed my kids, they didn't want to run with the slow crowd so we went down one of the backstreets and then to one of the parking lots of one of the hotels and ran up 11 flights of stairs. We ran around on the top of the parking area and it got too hot so we quit. This Monday we traveled home so no exercise for me. I ate only once on Monday too. I was more thirsty than hungry. I've decided to do the diet until this challenge is over soooo...after this week, two more weeks of this thing. I just want to make my goal by June 1st. Well I hope you all have a good week, it's good to be home.

Trying to Finish Hard
Mood:  lazy
I am being lazy, I didn't exercise yesterday and on Monday I walked up the road with my daughter. I guess I'm confused about whether a.m. exercise is better or p.m. I've read that with a.m. exercise you will burn more fat vs. p.m. exercise. Then the other day I read that if you work out in the morning on an empty stomach you burn muscle not fat and you eventually will slow down your metabolism. Well this got me to wondering because my metabolism is already messed up because of a thyroid condition and my weight loss or lack of weight loss may have been because of this. Listen to me trying to come up with excuses!!!! I don't know. Anyway trying to change my exercise schedule this week has been a challenge because I was use to coming home and enjoying my evening with my family not worrying about whether I needed to exercise or not. I'll get there, I brought my exercise clothes with me today so after work I'll have no excuses. I'm currently on day 2 of the diet I'm on and hopefully I'll have some more success:)

It's Friday
Mood:  a-ok
Well I finished the diet yesterday and I lost 4 lbs! Good enough for me. I really enjoyed my food today, soup, frybread, and blueberry gravy. Still running for exercise but no weights yet. Can't get myself to do it. I'm going to try the diet again next week and see what happens. It's getting down to the last few weeks and I'm going to do my best to be more disciplined with all my goals. Have a good weekend:)

It's a Good Week
Mood:  happy
The diet went well. I didn't eat any of my daughters birthday cake. It was an icecream cake so they saved me a piece and I enjoyed it on Sunday. I went a little crazy on Sunday with my food choices but that's something I'll work on for this next time. I did lose 5 lbs which made my day. I did gain about a 1 lb but that's o.k. I'm currently on my first day of the diet (2nd time) and I think this time of week is better for me. Exercise is going well and my knees aren't hurting as much. Hope you all have a good fun week!!!

3 Days Left in April!
Mood:  a-ok
I've blogged 2 days in a row, cool. After changing my weight goal I definitely feel less stressed. I ran my usual 3 miles this morning:) After this week I will start using the incline button to give myself an extra challenge. Still trying to get the lifting into my workout, I have no motivation to do so after work or in the morning. I have to find a way to get past this stumbling block I've created. As of today I'm doing the diet I mentioned on Wednesday. I'm not a fan of plain tuna so lunch was a challenge. Salt and pepper didn't mask a thing. I'll also have to get through the end of the day tommorrow without messing up, it's my daughters 16th birthday. I have to treat her and not myself!! Challenges, challenges, challenges!! I haven't weighed myself in a long time so I'm going to weigh in tommorrow. Hopefully I can blog 3 days in a row, we'll see.

Trying Something Old But New

I would like to thank Mariah for her encouragement and for some advice. I am going to try the diet that she and some other ladies are on. I've done it before (years ago) and had forgotten what it consisted of until I read what she was eating on the first and second day and it really does work. I just have to get past some of the more "tasty" items on the menu and I'll make it through. I need to make a change in one of my major goals though. I'm going to lower my weight loss goal by 10 lbs only because I think that at this point in the challenge I could not safely pursue my original goal. I'm not making any excuses for myself because I know that my "on again, off again" mode was to blame. In the past few weeks I have exercised more regularly than I have since the beginning of the challenge. With this change I hope to make my new goal by June 1st:)

Morning Exercise is Killing Me
Mood:  not sure
Well I got through the weekend. We ran in the hills on Saturday and it was more than challenging enough for me. I haven't run the hills since last year so I ended up run/walking. I'm still sore from that. Actually I'm wondering when I'll quit being sore from exercising?!! I've run out of ideas for weight loss. Maybe a day or two of fasting would help. (Annette's idea) Well time to go home.
